LEASING A HUNK OF YELLOW JUNK THAT RUNS VIRTUALLY NON-STOP 24 HOURS A DAY, 365 DAYS A YEAR, THROUGH A POTHOLE-RIDDLED GAUNTLET OF AGGRO MANIACS, ONLY SOME OF WHOM OCCASIONALLY LOOK UP FROM TEXTING, IS A BIG RISK TO BE TAKING. WE MUSTN'T FORGET THE INCOME- ELIMINATING POLICE TRAPS AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER ROCKS BEING THROWN AT YOU, PLUS UNSTABLE GAS PRICES AND PSYCHOPATHIC PASSENGERS. MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, MY CAB OVERHEATS MINUTES AFTER I TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONING. IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN, FOLKS. AT LEAST WE GET A BREAK FROM SLIPPERY, INVISIBLE BLACK ICE. I GIVE A PROUD SALUTE TO ALL CABBIES FOR THEIR INTEGRITY AND RESILIENCE ON THIS THE DAY AFTER "TAXI APPRECIATION DAY."
does near every car really overheat right after the a/c is turned on? I had one like that recently, but none others. i think it's a simple maintenance issue that is not being taken care of. maybe the car is lacking engine coolant.
ReplyDeleteI know on particularly hot days, the gas guys refill every car's engine coolant, and similarly after/during a snowy day they may refill the washer fluid.
actually when i was done using that particular car with this problem, they all seemed confused by it, asking if it was the a/c, and when i said the a/c works fine, but the engine overheats, they looked baffled. it might be a language barrier. but either way i only had one with this problem. another one overheated to the point it couldn't drive because a fan broke. I was impressed that they came to my location and immediately knew the problem, and had the replacement fan with them.
